Underground Poetry is good for you and society

It's one of the places you can find uncensored voices that speak out about the injustices we live with. Of course its also a place where you can get lost in a lot of really bad writing. Having said that here are some links to new voices that I think are worth a read.

Quillbillies

Jme and the Radio Sweethearts

In Between Hangovers

J(syn)

Sabine

chu tu

Here is an example from just one of them:

Issaquah was

Ravines for exploring

And creeks for skipping

With kids sweetly singing

Me Chinese!

Then Daddy packed

Us all across the

Big Blue to Taiwan

And it was taxi

Cabs and Christmas

Beetles, geckos

Chirping away

In the walls,

And children trilling

Monkey Eye!

Momma went

Ziggidy-boo

And left to

Find the genie

In the vodka bottle.

Daddy twirled

To the pied

Pipes of ivory wrists

Until the letter

With the numbers

Of the license

That piggy backed

My ride to school.

Then it was Hide

And Go Seek

From Taiwan to

Korea and back to

Issaquah where

Momma hop-scotched

Snatching ulcers

From a puddle

Of gin.

Daddy put the

Puppy in the truck

Skipping like

A flat rock

Across three states

To eat Rice-A-Roni

The San Francisco treat

Ding! Ding!

And I started

Searching the folds

Of bus schedules

Ferry schedules

Train schedules

For pixie dust, and

Found it in the

Ball pointed winds

And curls of

A blade

That flayed me

Open and

Sighed from

Me like steam.

Some interesting links here though a couple seemed to need invitations to view. There was a Bukowski quote on one of them that reminded me of something I heard on the radio the other day. Apparently Gilbert or George (of Gilbert and George) said 'being content is ok but there are a lot more interesting states to experience'

They are watching you BECAUSE you are paranoid.
